Our Growth

Serving more families, better

Each year more families reach out for RMHC WA’s support beyond our capacity. Together in partnership with WA Government, Lotterywest, and the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, we have undertaken a bold strategy in the aim that no family is turned away at their time of need.

The opening of Ronald McDonald House on Park is a significant milestone in our growth strategy to continue to support more families, better by 2028. Our next and most significant milestone is the expansion of the Ronald McDonald House at QEII.

Our vision for RMH at QEII is to establish a world-class example of family-centred care accommodation and services in our health system that is experienced as a much-loved home-away-from-home for patients and their families.

To achieve this, our families, staff, volunteers and stakeholders will be at the centre of its design. We seek to understand the needs, challenges and aspirations for an environment that supports everyone’s wellbeing.

Stage 1 – Community Consultation Completed

Earlier this year RMHC WA engaged Creating Communities to undertake a comprehensive community consultation with families, staff, volunteers, health partners, advocates for patients with disabilities and their families, as well as advocates for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to inform concept design.

Stage 2 – Concept Design Underway

Informed by Stage 1, RMHC WA has engaged Hames Sharley to develop the design brief for the extension to Ronald McDonald House at QEII.
